WHY MOVE TO ANTIGUA?

The reasons behind our property boom are obvious. Antigua offers an enviable lifestyle of sun, sea and sand. The politics are stable, and the economy is driven by tourism. Our 100,000 permanent residents are an interesting mix of people, not just from the Caribbean but from all over the world.

Another incentive is that Antiguan passports may be obtained through our Citizenship Investment Programme (CIP) introduced on qualified properties. There are four different investment options starting at US$100,000 for a single applicant.

 

Antigua also prides itself on being a small but trusted financial centre. The long-established Global Bank of Commerce is just one of the licensed banks offering a full range of well-regulated, technology-driven financial services to anyone thinking of relocating to our shores.

WHERE SHOULD I LIVE?

Where you live in Antigua is vital, of course, and will have a great impact on your own enjoyment as well as on your property’s resale value. If you simply want to get away from it all, you should probably head southeast and settle in the scenic coastal areas around Brown's Bay and Nonsuch Bay. Alternatively, friendly communities and excellent beaches, as well as first-class infrastructures, await in English Harbour in the south and Jolly Harbour in the west –Tamarind Hills overlooking Darkwood Beach, for example, takes luxury to new heights. Or you may prefer to be a hop, skip and jump away from our capital St. John's. Prime residential areas in the northwest include Dickenson Bay, Crosbies and Paradise View.

SETTING UP HOUSE

When it comes to setting up house, you’ll also be spoilt for choice. Living Spaces, Townhouse Megastore and the Antigua Home and Garden Centre are just three well-stocked stores offering quality furniture and household items for every room in your home. So Teak showcases designer wicker and teak outdoor furniture tailor-made for our extreme tropical climate. The emporium that is The Posh Pirate even sells quality antiques sourced directly from its international clientele. Of course, if you’re a Brit and prefer to ship your own furniture over, the Geest Line has been operating across the Atlantic Ocean for more than 65 years.

 

And you won’t have to compromise when it comes to stocking up your fridge either. Epicurean, Island Provisions and The Cork & Basket are just three stores able to provide everything from local fruit and veg to luxury biscuits from Waitrose and exceptional teas from Harney & Sons.  Crab Hole Liquors, with stores in both Falmouth and Nelson's Dockyard, is where to head for a great selection of fine wines and spirits.
